These 3 handmade  silver rings are exhibition pieces and part of the Table and Chairs series. 

Social comments seeking decency and respect... seeking dialogue. 

They are inspired by the 3 monkeys from the Buddhist teachings that imply that if we do not HEAR, SEE or SPEADK evil, we ourselves shall be spared from evil.

Is it really so?

In a world where so much harm and injustice are being done every day, I believe in speaking up against them instead of pretending they don’t exist.

I believe in respecting others by carefully listening and engaging in civil discussions. Especially about difficult subjects and with those we disagree with, otherwise we will never have peace in this poor world!

We don’t have to agree, just yet, but both sides must watch, listen and talk.

As these rings are about us people not monkeys, I borrowed these symbols and 3D scanned myself doing them, and challenged them by also scanning me doing SEE, HEAR and SPEAK UP gestures. 

With each table/ring I want to say: Don’t pretend you can’t see or can't hear! Don’t be scared to say something! But do it with respect!

I have given them a double meaning

. See each other! Listen to each other! Talk to each other! 

. And speak up when you encounter injustice!

3D scanned figurines are cast in solid sterling silver and soldered on the tables.
